Capitol Hill Block Party
Challenge
Capitol Hill Block Party is a music festival that has been happening in Seattle since the 90s. In recent years, the posters have become dull, only having the artists' names on them backed with abstract colors. New life needs to be breathed into the posters, especially after the festival's 2-year Covid hiatus.
Solution
The art direction was inspired first-hand knowledge of the area and the festival. It takes place over several days, in closed-down streets during the peak days of Seattle summer. The days are hot and long, and the nights flashy and exciting, with swarms of people dancing, singing and partying.

Team Dresch Gig Poster
Challenge
A simple challenge of creating a gig poster that fits the crusty queerpunk attitude of the band Team Dresch.
Solution
The poster tells the story of heart-ache being a queer youth growing up in a rural area, but with the anger that comes with the sound.

Challenge
Create an effective poster campaign to bring in new clientele to a local video rental store that also prides itself in being a non-profit with a large collection of rare films. The workers are knowledgeable and better at recommending movies than any algorithm.
Solution
The simple idea of the arm of a worker holding out a video to the viewer with a suggestion card gives the friendly, knowledgeable atmosphere wanted for the posters. Even without seeing the employees' faces like in the initial planning stages, you get the idea behind their personalities from their arms alone, giving a sense of humor to the campaign.
